We understand that the past 6 months have been a challenging time for many in our community. We are committed to working with our customers to navigate the financial difficulties some are facing as a result of the COVID-19 health crisis.
On March 16, 2020, we temporarily suspended disconnects and late fees for nonpayment of our water and sewer accounts. While this measure is not something we can sustain indefinitely, we did this as an emergency relief to help our customers who suddenly found themselves in financial hardship due to the COVID-19 health crisis.
By order of the Public Service Commission, regulated utilities in Kentucky may start disconnecting water to members who have not paid their bills beginning October 20, 2020. In an effort to give our customers additional time to make arrangements with us, Hardin County Water District No. 1 will resume disconnections for accounts with a past due balance starting November 6, 2020. Late fees will not be assessed until after December 31, 2020.
Customers with past due balances from March 16, 2020 to October 1, 2020 can choose two options:
Option 1: Pay your account in full by Friday, November 6, 2020. This can be done online at https://www.iwebms.net/hcwd1 or by calling our automated phone payment system at 270-872-0967.
Option 2: Set up a payment arrangement by Friday, November 6, 2020– we will do our best to accommodate your budget and needs. To set up a payment plan, please fill out the Covid-19 Payment Plan Contact Form, and one of our Customer Service Representatives will be in touch:
